BOGOR CITY


Bogor is a city in West Java Province of Indonesia. Bogor located in 60 km south of Indonesia capital, Jakarta. Buitenzorg is the name given by Dutch government during the colonial era in Bogor. In 1752, the Netherland looking for a resort that is located on the outside of Jakarta, and chose Bogor as their resort town. The city was named Buitenzorg which mean of natural peace.
Bogor has a presidential palace and a botanical garden (Bogor Botanical Garden) one of the oldest and largest in the world. Bogor nicknamed "the Rain City" (Kota Hujan), because of the very high rainfall. It nearly always rains even during the dry season. then, Bogor have another nickname, it called "Million City Public Transportation" (Kota Sejuta Angkot).
